Your sexual partner should also be treated. Otherwise, the infection gets passed back and forth between the two of you. Men aren’t usually aware they have an infection.

Another reason why BV always comes back is explained very good here

Men cannot get bv. Woman can infect their female partner. If your man is uncircumcised, have him clean off his penis before and after sex. Make sure you wash after sex too.

Ladies – most of these doctors have NO idea what they are talking about. EVERY time I had unprotected sex with my partner, I would get it! I got treated with Metronidzadole and Clindimycin from 250mg to 500mg daily for 7 days. I’ve been suffering from this for YEARS! Finally I decided to use condoms with my partner, and ever since it has NOT come back!!!!! They say it’s not sexually transmitted, but by personal experience, I can say that IT IS!!! Just trust me and try it!!! As soon as you start treatment, use condoms going forward. Also, there’s a product called “Refresh” that will help while you are being treated. They wont tell people this because they want us to waste our money on these antibiotics!!! Trust me! Oh, and BTW – I tried the whole yogurt and vinegar thing- IT DOESN’T WORK! Neither does the acidophilus supplements… Condoms, Refreshh, and cotton panties. And don’t wear panties to bed (after your treatment is finished) Let the little lady breathe :)
