Note: this is not a yeast infection, and vaginosis is not caused by the same things that yeast infections are.

The most common causes of vaginosis are having sex with multiple new partners, going anal-to-vaginal without both partners (and especially the male, if there is a man involved) having a hot shower with lots of soap and water in between, and wearing thong underwear. (The strip of the thong conducts bacteria between the two openings.) Vulva-to-vulva contact, as between lesbian lovers, can also transmit it.

It can also recur time and again from a single infection, which is why treating it properly with prescription drugs is so important.

i had this problem too….its usually moisture that causes it….i also found out that pantyliners can hold in more heat causing more occurances…
