I have bacterial vaginosis, I've taken the meds but nothing seems to work. I've looked at other posts on here hoping to find something that will help.
I noticed a lot of people have mentioned that eating more acidic foods helps restore your pH level but I eat acidic foods A LOT. Is it poossible that my pH level is too acidic and thats causing the bv?

Hey Jess. Eating acidic food to "make your body more acidic" is silly. The single most important acidity component is carbon dioxide in your blood. If you hyperventilate then carbon dioxide drops in your system and you blood becomes basic, making things not work very well.
Low vaginal pH is actually one of the best deterrents to unhealthy bacteria. This is most successfully done by supporting acid-producing, natural vaginal bacteria. Lactobacillus acidophilous is one of the most important. BV is most common in women of child-bearing age. Women who are pregnant, women who are chronically wet, or women who douche a lot have the toughest time with this.
By drinking a certain amount of live bacterial culture each day, you can help make this stay away. "Pro-biotic" flora/bacteria will help your overall digestive process as well. Most "health food stores" or GNC will have this type of product. Be gentle and slow with it at first, until your digestive tract adjusts. Otherwise you may go poo-poo-splater.
Long term, this is your best defense. No back to front, bathe in a clean bath tub, wipe and pee after sex, and hopefully you can get back into a normal pattern. Remember, douching flushed out healthy bacteria because they don't grab onto your skin.
Many acidic foods have an alkaline effect in the body.
