Having it shouldn’t affect breastfeeding. But you are going to need to treat it, read this book its a natural treatment so its safe for your baby when you breastfeed and not like meds. You can get over the counter anti itch cream for that. It shouldn’t affect anything though.

I assume you mean a vaginal yeast infection. It should not have any affect on the baby. You do want to get it treated. You will be more comfortable. I have been prescribed a pill for this, but pharmacists are a little unsure about if it comes through the breastmilk. You could also be prescribed something that can just insert the medication right into…the affected area but its also not 100% safe. Best is to use something like this remedy.

you can buy an itch cream specifically for that at walmart or other stores like walgreens,it wont hurt the baby. but make sure u wash your hands after applying it. they have treatments there too u can use,u dont have to get antibiotics. and they shouldnt effect the baby at all. the infection wont effect the baby either. i know u shouldnt have sex during an infection and after it clears up your suppose to wait like 2wks too. the treatments range from a couple of days to a week, just deps on which one u get. try monostat.
ive breastfed all 3 of my kids.

it won’t effect the baby. (bacterial vaginosis)
and the antibiotic is usually topical (inserted into the vagina) for 7-10 days–there’s less chance of the antibiotics even reaching your milk due to this. you’ll need to get checked out to get it taken care of, though.

Bacterial Infection in the vagina is different than Yeast Infection people. I’ve got a bacterial one right now. My OBYN says they are similar but the Bacterial one is most common. She prescribed Metronidazol/Flagyl 500 mg 2x daily by mouth. There are mixed reviews on the medicine being okay during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding but it’s important to cure the bacterial infection so I’m going to take it. I’ll take the first dose after I breastfeed and when my baby goes down to sleep for 12 hours. Good luck with your situation.
