Ladies - most of these doctors have NO idea what they are talking about. EVERY time I had unprotected sex with my partner, I would get it! I got treated with Metronidzadole and Clindimycin from 250mg to 500mg daily for 7 days. I've been suffering from this for YEARS! Finally I decided to use condoms with my partner, and ever since it has NOT come back!!!!! They say it's not sexually transmitted, but by personal experience, I can say that IT IS!!! Just trust me and try it!!! As soon as you start treatment, use condoms going forward. Also, there's a product called "Refresh" that will help while you are being treated. They wont tell people this because they want us to waste our money on these antibiotics!!! Trust me! Oh, and BTW - I tried the whole yogurt and vinegar thing- IT DOESN'T WORK! Neither does the acidophilus supplements... Condoms, Refreshh, and cotton panties. And don't wear panties to bed (after your treatment is finished) Let the little lady breathe :)

Hey all! Same here. I have been in and out of the doctor just about every 3 months for the last 6 years. It is said that the main cause is having more than one sexual partner. This is not true with me. I have been with my man for 18 years and I am most confident that he has been and always will be true to me. I was told as a young adult to not douche. So I never did (husband never complained either, not til the horrible smell showed up six years ago) Am beside myself. CAN MY husband be treated? Doc says this is not a sexually transmitted disease. I asked if I should stop using tampons and she said that she uses them. Could my husband and I be transferring it back and forth. Bacteria can grow immune to antibiotics and I am so afraid that I will never be able to get rid of it. HELP!

i have had several years of pure misery dealing with BV. It really started after i got a new bf, now my fiance. i have been treated throughout my entire pregnancy for BV, and since having my daughter I have had it repeatedly. have used the pills/gel/cream, and all is well for about 1-2 weeks after using them....and then it returns! tried ruling out everything as a cause, even blaming my fiance, so ruled out sex too1!! i don't know what is causing the BV, but i have not had a period in 5 months now, and am not preggo!! and why do doctors not seem to care about this all too common problem? just want a real cure!!! getting hopeless
