I hate getting bacterial vaginosis. It’s a headache to deal with. I feel miserable, frustrated, and helpless whenever I get BV. I was just curious about if a yeast infection or bacteria vaginosis get left untreated does it ever clear up on it’s own. If they do not go away then can it do harm to your body? I would like to know for both afflictions.
Thanks!

A yeast infection can resolve on it’s own and often does when the period starts, anything that will restore the natural balance of the vagina can do this. A bacterial infection requires antibiotics to eliminate it, it will not resolve on its own. Even antibiotics are not a permanent solution, you can read more about treating bv here.
well a yeast infection is easily cured just over the counter creams. but a bacterial infection needs antbiotics to clear or even better a permanent solution like this one. A bacterial infection left untreated can cause problems do to the infection being in your reproductive parts unlike the yeast that is an infection in the vagina. and let me tell you from experience a yeast infection is unpleasant do to the itching and burning, a bacterial infection how ever makes your vagina smell like fish. its a horrible smell and if youve got any of the 2 you will want meds for it and wouldnt want to to be itchy and burning or smelly like raw fish.
Never.
In fact, a vaginal yeast infection is almost always indicative of a systemic one.
And yes, they can do a great deal of harm if left untreated. See your doctor.
Gazeygoo’s answer is correct. I used to get yeast infections all the time when I had PMS. My obgyn said it was hormonal. They always cleared up on their own when I got my period. My obgyn said that it was very normal for this to happen.
No…You have to go see a Dr. and he will give you something to take care of it…If not it can worsen
