Anyone know how soon after completing a round of antibiotics for bacterial infection (when pregnant) symptoms?
should subside? I just completed a 7 day round for bacterial vaginosis (which my dr told me is common in pregnancy) and the symptoms are better but not completly gone. Anyone know if they should be completly gone by now?

This not a very appealing treatment, but if you insert a clove of garlic into your vagina and leave it there while you sleep, it can make a difference to the condition. Garlic is considered to be a natural antibiotic
Yeast infections are not considered to be sexually transmitted infections (STI) because a celibate woman can develop them, but having unprotected sex can pass them along. A man who has unprotected sex with a woman who has an active yeast infection can get a penile yeast infection. Transmission of genital yeast infections from woman to man is uncommon, but it does happen.
You never can be too careful with a subject like this people need to take notice.
In pregnancy, bacterial vaginosis can cause premature labor, premature birth, infection of the amniotic fluid, and infection of the uterus after delivery. However, treatment of asymptomatic (not producing symptoms) bacterial vaginosis in pregnancy has not been shown to decrease the incidence of premature births in most studies. For these reasons, screening and treatment for bacterial vaginosis during pregnancy is controversial, and research is still being conducted to determine its utility and value. Currently the routine screening of all pregnant women is not recommended. However, screening and treatment of bacterial vaginosis is sometimes recommended for women with a history of a preterm birth.
I have been having a uti for about 7 days now I went to my doctor on the 6th day and got antibiotics. I have been taking them, taking cranberry pills, drinking cranberry juice , and drinking tons of water. Nothing seems to help, it doesn’t really burn when I urinate anymore. But is it usual for there to be red, itchy, swelling, of the clitoris ? Please help? If so , what should I do to make it go away?
I have at last managed to get on top of the problem of Bacterial Vaginosis. I used anti-biotics that my Doctor gave me at first and that got rid of the problem temporarily but it came back shortly afterwards. I then went to a Health shop to talk to a Naturopath about possible solutions. She suggested talking an Oral probiotic especially for women (I used flora restore(1 tablet a day))and High Potency Kyolic Garlic (2 tablets a day). The first time I needed to take these for a week before the problem went away. If the condition re occurs I find that I only need to take them for 3 days or so so they last quite a long time. Recurrance sometimes happens if we have sex without a condom so presumably a condom may prevent this condition.
I hope this is helpful. It really is horrible having that horrible smell!
